May 2006

View from the enclosed bridge. The aquarium had two parts, with an enclosed bridge in between.

Many floors! I wanted to leave, thinking we had seen it all. Glad Brian was paying attention. “Ivy,

we have two more floors!” My favorite was the multilevel aquarium. It seemed like we were the

ones being watched, not the fish. We were inside looking out at the fish. You looped around the

top, then went down a level. Top was open. You could look down into the water. It featured the

coral reef, so pretty. The camera didn’t capture the color too well.

This was Power Plant. Had ESPN Zone, Barnes & Noble, Hard Rock Café and a few other small

restaurants. “Look Brian, your favorite store Best Buy” We ate at Hard Rock Café. So much fun,

I had never eaten at one. Saw Eddie Vedder’s guitar case! HERE

It was blazing hot that day. I quickly realize why the website said to buy your tickets online, the

line was horrendous! I guess if you’re disabled you can skip the line, but I didn’t know that. A

staff member saw us right away and took us to the ticket counter. Bless him! (My rationalization:

Just got charged $100 in parking garage. –read letter~ We would’ve paid $100 or close to,

NOT to wait in that line) This view was above the ticket counter. As we went up to the first floor,

we were able to see it better. Walked along the bridge here into a huge greenhouse of sorts. Had

rocks, underground ponds and as we looked up, saw all types of birds flying around freely. Even

had bats hanging upside down from the net canopy.

In another section that was all open, looking down were loads of stingrays. So graceful. This

picture was the same group of stingrays taken from an angle from the multilevel section that

was my favorite. That open section was stinky! But hey, what you expect? It also had a huge

cylinder aquarium there filled with seahorses. If you look at seahorses, they start to look like aliens!

Brian’s favorite, sharks! He took a bunch, but this is the only one that came out. As we were

wondering, I thought, don’t these fish, frogs, dolphins go a little nuts with all these camera flashes?

Dolphin show at 3 o’clock! This tank goes down below a few levels. Before the show, we sat

and watched them underwater. They’re so incredible. Twisting and turning, swimming on their

backs…so fun to watch.
